Theresa Engkilterra - Pastoral Minister

Theresa has been on staff at Sacred Heart since May 2001. She enjoyed (and survived!) fifteen years in youth ministry. Theresa’s primary role is liturgy. She also coordinates Adult Education and retreats for the parish and works with the Stewardship Committee.

Theresa came to us from St. Frances Cabrini where she served as Youth Ministry/Confirmation Coordinator since 1992. In May 2000, she was in the first graduating class of ILM (Institute for Leadership in Ministry) through the Diocese of San Jose.

When she finds a little time for herself, she enjoys reading and walking. Her favorite ways of relaxing often include beaches or mountains. Her favorite way of relieving stress is to bake chocolate chip cookies, which she loves sharing with others.

Theresa has three sons and two daughters-in-law: Adam, Peter and Kerry, and Jared and Danielle. Like most parents of young adults, she cherishes the times when all can be together as family.

Theresa believes in living by the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have done unto you” (Mt 7:12) and draws her strength from a passage in Philippians: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil 4:13).
